A teenage girl has been injured after falling from a moving bus in a frightening incident near the Spit Bridge area of Manly Road in Seaforth, New South Wales, Australia.
The incident occurred just after 5:45pm on Monday, 28 September 2026, when emergency services were called following reports that a passenger had fallen from a double-decker B-Line (B1) bus traveling northbound at approximately 50 km/h.
According to initial reports, the 16-year-old girl was standing near the rear door of the bus when the door allegedly gave way while the vehicle was in motion. She subsequently fell onto the roadway near Battle Boulevard, prompting immediate concern from other passengers on board.
Witnesses say several commuters rushed to assist the injured teenager and quickly contacted emergency services. Triple Zero (000) was called, and multiple responders were dispatched to the scene within minutes.
NSW Ambulance deployed four crews, including intensive care paramedics, while a rescue helicopter was also placed on standby from Bankstown. However, due to the girl’s stable condition upon assessment, the helicopter was later stood down.
Paramedics treated the teenager at the scene for injuries including bruising to the right side of her head, as well as pain in her hip and lower back. She was conscious and able to sit up when emergency responders arrived.
She was later transported by road to Royal North Shore Hospital for further treatment and observation.
Police from the Northern Beaches Police Area Command have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including a review of the bus door mechanism and maintenance records to determine whether a mechanical fault may have contributed to the accident.
